LASUMA Pays ‘Thank-you’ Visit To CP Ahmed Lateef For Support During AGM/Award Night

A delegation from the Lagos State University Muslim Alumni paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police and Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr Ahmed Lateef Adio at the police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, 10 December, 2025, reports thegazellenews.com

According to the President of LASUMA, Dr Abdul Azeez Anjorin, the visit to express appreciation to the PSO for his material and financial support towards the success of the recent Annual General Assembly and Award ceremony of LASUMA.

Renowned Professor of Business Administration at the Lagos State University, Prof. Abideen Adekunle Tijani, who is also Chairman of the LASUMA AGM 2025 Planning Committee represented LASUMA during the visit to the PSO office.

At the event which took place at the Eko Club, Surulere on Sunday, 7 December, 2025, CP Ahmed Lateef was represented by CSP Idris Sarumi.

At the Annual General Assembly, LASUMA gathered all her members and friends alike who finished from the Lagos State University from 1988/89 till date to re-unite as part of its regular yearly event, award scholarships to LASU Students and honour its members. Dr. Lateef Ahmed was among those honoured at the event for his contribution to education, selfless service to Nigeria and the development of LASUMA in particular.

CP Lateef Ahmed awarded a total of N5 million scholarships to LASU students at the event. A N1 million one-off scholarship to six undergraduate and two postgraduate students; and N4 million for a four-year continuous scholarships to another six undergraduate and two postgraduate students.

Prominent members of LASUMA members who contributed and support the scholarship project of the association are: the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the Upper Legislative Chamber, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule; the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government who also doubles as Chairman of Conference 57, Honourable Abdullahi Sesan Olowa; former Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Honourable Rasaq Olusola Ajala; Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Princess Muhibat Rufai-Adeyemi; the Olojo of Ojo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Gaalib Rufai; former Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Honourable Rosulu Idowu; the Vice Chancellor of the Lagos University of Education, Professor Bilqis Lafiaji-Okuneye; CSP Idris Sarumi and the Council Treasurer for Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Alhaji Mujitaba Rufai among others.
