He was arrested by the police for not only slapping the head of the makeup team, Mary Chizzy Eze but also pressing her neck which nearly led to her suffocation.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, 28 October, 2025, while on the set of the film, ‘Lagos to Opulence’.

A trending video capturing the altercation showed the production manager first slapping Mary, then proceeding to “press Mary’s throat.”

This physical assault has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

The Nigeria Film Crew Community (NFCC) issued a statement on Thursday, 30 October, 2025, condemning the incident and reacting to the public outcry.

The NFCC described Courage’s actions as “animalistic behaviour.”

The NFCC called upon Nollywood producers and all industry stakeholders to “blacklist Courage across all productions.”

The community explained the context of the assault, stating that:“The production manager violently hit and strangled Mary Chizzy Eze for speaking up against unequal treatment among the crew. While she has received medical care, he has been arrested.”

The NFCC concluded their statement with a firm stance against workplace violence:“This level of disregard for human dignity is unacceptable. We stand firmly against all forms of abuse, assault, and crew maltreatment”.
