I, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), congratulate the old and newly-elected members of the 10th Lagos State House of Assembly inaugurated today, 6th June, 2023.
I thank God for your individual victories at the polls last March when Lagosians trooped out en-mass to cast their votes for you. That was a demonstration of the confidence they reposed in you all that you will represent them well at the legislative arm of government in Lagos State and work toward bringing the dividends of democracy to them.
It is also a testimony of the fact that our party is a reliable and a formidable one that Lagosians have confidence in to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to them as it has been doing in the years past.
I, therefore, urge you all to work harmoniously as a team and as members of the same family in making the above vision a reality in our State of Excellence.
Also, I implore you to work with His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy, Kadir Obafemi Hamzat and all the executive members of the state cabinet, by performing your statutory duties in a peaceful and friendly manner devoid of any acrimony or rancour for the common good of Lagosians. By doing that collectively, prosperity will judge you right that you contributed your quota to the growth and the development of the State of Aquatic Splendour when you had the opportunity to do it.
We all stand to benefit when the house is intact, devoid of cracks, dissension, divisions and rancour.
Lagosians are yearning for continuous growth and development which can only reach them through the enactment of people- oriented laws by you, our honourable men and women of these 10th Assembly.
I therefore charge you all to put the interests of our State as top priority rather than engaging yourselves in acts that could destabilise or retard her progress.
Let us remember that we can achieve whatever we set before us through sacrifice, patience, faith and prayers to God.
Let us remember that it is only the best that is good for Lagos State so that other states will continue to emulate and regard her as the state of first choice.
I wish you all happy inauguration as well as God’s guidance in the discharge of your constitutional responsibilities to the good people of Lagos.
