The President of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez, has confirmed that Colombian pop star, Shakira will to perform at the 2024 Copa America final.
Dominquez confirmed that the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ crooner will perform during the halftime of the showpiece final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Sunday, July 14.through a statement issued on Tuesday, 9 July, 2024.
“Shakira is an extraordinary South American star who has dazzled the entire world. We are sure that her performance at the Copa América USA 2024 will enhance the message of healthy passion and unity through sport,” CONMEBOL boss said in the statement.
Shakira had previously performed at major global events such as the Super Bowl and three World Cups.
The 2024 Copa America final will be between (Argentina and the winner of other semifinal clash on Thursday, 11 July, 2024 between Uruguay and Colombia.
Recall that in the early hours of Wednesday, 10 July, 2024, Argentina team inspired by the legendary Lionel Messi beat Canada 2-0 to sail through to the final of the soccer showpiece.
At least, 54,000 people are expected to attend the final.
