Wizkid has finally reacted to the escalating online conflict between his fans and Seun Kuti, Afrobeat musician and son of the late music legend, Fela Kuti.

Thegazellenews.com recalled that the Grammy Award winner has remained to be silent since the dispute commenced last week.
The social media spat was ignited last week after Seun, 43, publicly accused Wizkid’s fanbase, known as Wizkid FC, of disrespecting his father’s legacy by drawing comparisons between Fela and the Grammy winner.
WizKid did not immediately respond to the comment, leaving his fans to respond.
It was gathered that Seun Kuti attacked Wizkid’s fans, cursing them via video.
The spat has generated so much reaction on the social media and the heat was ignited with Wizkid’s reaction on Tuesday, 20 January, 2026.
In a series of posts on his Instagram story on Tuesday evening, Wizkid, 35, vented his anger at the Afrobeat singer.
The ‘Made in Lagos’ hitmaker started by sharing a video of a woman delivering a heated, Yoruba-language critique directed at Seun.
In another response shared on IG Stories, Wizkid posted a video of a woman defending him, saying he’s done more to promote Fela Kuti’s work to a new generation.
Wizkid added: “Fela fight for freedom this Dey fight fc!! I big pass your papa, wetin you wan do? @bigbirdkuti I’m Big Wiz everyday bigger than your papa!! Wetin u one do”
Seun Kuti had warned against comparing modern artists to his father, saying it was disrespectful and an attempt to “steal the man’s image”.
