The Chairman of Agege Local Government, Honourable Tunde Azeez, popularly called Tunde Disco, has resigned from his position as Chairman of the Local Government reports thegazellenews.com

The Legislative Arm of the local government announced Azeez’s resignation on Wednesday, 5 November, 2025.

Thegazellenews.com had earlier reported that Azeez had sought and got approval for a medical leave which paved the way for his deputy, Abdul Ganiy Vinod Obasa to act on his behalf.

Azeez has now officially confirmed that he cannot continue as the Chairman of the local government due to his failing health.

The Legislative Arm unanimously passed a resolution accepting the resignation letter.

This development paves the way for a new leadership structure, ensuring the council’s continued commitment to effective governance and community service.

Following the acceptance of the resignation, the House unanimously approved Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa as the substantive Chairman of Agege Local Government.

“This decision underscores the council’s dedication to seamless governance and leadership continuity,” the Legislative Arm said.
