Well over 500 women in Kebbi state have been treated and cured of the two major cancer diseases which are breast and cervical cancer.

The Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi during the walk away cancer procession held to raise awareness against cancer in Kebbi state.

She hinted that by the year 2026 cancer would be history in Kebbi state due to early detection and free treatment being dished out to victims through her foundation.

While urging women across ages in the country to embrace regular cancer screening to enable them know their status in order to get the treatment ” cancer treatments is free in Kebbi because it’s being facilitated and assisted by Kebbi government”.

The annual cancer walk away kicked off from Kebbi government house through to major streets in the state capital and terminated at Kalgo medical center where addressed beneficiaries and raised concerns over silence in the face cancer signs.

According to her women are more prone to cancer hence the need for them to speak up to save their lives since it is no longer a death warrant it can totally cured if detected early.
