Former Member of the House of Representatives for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II, Hon. Hakeem Abiodun Muniru, has joined a chorus of well-wishers across the political landscape to felicitate with distinguished lawmaker and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, on his appointment as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, 29 April, 2026, Hon. Muniru described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Faleke’s unwavering commitment to progressive politics, legislative excellence, and grassroots mobilisation spanning over two decades.

“Hon. James Faleke is a political colossus whose contributions to the development of Lagos State and the nation at large remain indelible,” Muniru stated. “His elevation to the GAC is not just a personal triumph but a validation of his consistent service, strategic acumen, and deep connection with the people.”

Faleke, who currently represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has built a formidable reputation as a dogged legislator and a loyal party man. His political journey—from his days as a local government chairman to his current status as a federal lawmaker—has been marked by resilience, intellectual depth, and an uncommon dedication to the welfare of his constituents

Hon. Muniru noted that Faleke’s inclusion in the GAC, the highest advisory body within the Lagos APC, would bring fresh perspectives and invaluable experience to governance deliberations in the state.

He expressed confidence that the new appointee would deploy his wealth of knowledge to further strengthen the party’s structures and advance the development agenda of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administrations.

“This is a mind-blowing appointment that underscores the reward system within our great party,” Muniru added. “Hon. Faleke has earned every bit of this honour through hard work, loyalty, and an unblemished record of public service.”

The former lawmaker urged party faithful and political stakeholders to rally behind the GAC in its mission to sustain Lagos as a model of progressive governance, while praying that Almighty God grants Faleke greater wisdom and sound health in this new capacity.

Political observers view Faleke’s appointment as a strategic move that reinforces the unity and stability of the Lagos APC ahead of future electoral contests, cementing his place as one of the most influential figures in the state’s political hierarchy.
