The closing ceremony of a seven-week marathon spiritual programme organised by the Nasrul-Lahi-il-Fatih Society of Nigeria, NASFAT, a prominent, non-sectarian Islamic, Lagos Chapter was marked by prayers, reflection and a renewed call for divine guidance, with the Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu, receiving special prayers for a successful tenure and greater accomplishments in office.
The occasion attracted the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin, Kwara State, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani, who served as Special Guest of Honour. He attended the programme at the invitation of the Nasfat Chief Missioner, Imam Abdul Azeez Moruf Onike.
One of the major highlights of the ceremony was the special prayer offered by Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki for Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu. The revered Islamic scholar prayed for divine wisdom, protection, success and remarkable achievements for the chairman throughout his tenure.
The prayers underscored the importance of placing leadership and public service in the hands of Almighty God while seeking His direction at every stage of stewardship.
The gathering also reinforced the belief that effective leadership requires not only commitment, competence and dedication, but also humility and reliance on divine guidance.
Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu’s presence at the programme further reflected his appreciation of the spiritual community and his commitment to values that promote responsible and purposeful leadership.
The special prayers offered on his behalf were therefore seen as both a spiritual blessing and a call to continued dedication to the people of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA.
The ceremony brought together members of the Leagues of Imams, Nasfat executives and a large gathering of Nasfat members, alongside notable personalities from the local government.

Among those present were the Secretary to Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim Olanrewaju; Hon. Kolawole Iliyasu Azeez, Special Adviser on Housing and Tourism; Mr. Liade Jimoh; and other dignitaries.
The gathering ultimately served as a powerful reminder that leadership is a trust. As Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu continues his stewardship, the prayers offered at the Nasfat programme symbolise a collective hope for wisdom, impactful governance and accomplishments that will positively touch the lives of the people.
